A place like absolutely no other, Scorpios, in Greece’s tourist mecca Mykonos, finds everything the modern hippy seeks. More than food, a beach club or anything vaguely known before, Scorpios offers an experience, with curated encounters of the mind and body alike.
“Welcome to the bohemian revolution. Worldwide, a growing community of unconventional thinkers, spiritual seekers, purpose-driven entrepreneurs, and nomadic travellers are changing the cultural landscape, and redefining the aspirations of 21st-century life.”
As part of the nearby Soho Roc House, a chic accommodation facility, Scorpios is described as a collective of sorts. A place where creatives can meet, share ideas and inspire those searching for deeper meaning.
“Inspired by an ancient Greek agora, Scorpios is a gathering place and community of creatives, musicians and storytellers, with a restaurant, terraces and daybeds dotted across the sand.”
The location is breathtaking, with the water capturing the attention from every angle. The buildings and the interiors are secondary to the environment they’re placed in. Quiet luxury of course, but never commanding or ostentatious. Hessian is draped above restaurant tables providing shade from the hot sun while the muted palette never detracts from the water, the location or the food placed on the tables.
Scorpios is unique, but maybe not for long. As people seek solitude, happiness and meaning in a fast-paced world, we’re likely to see more of this in the future. Scorpios, ahead of the game, will likely ebb and flow, adapting to the ever-changing demands of the people who are drawn to the kind of enlightened life they promote. For now, it’s well ahead of the game.
