Perched atop the newly opened Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel, Sully's Rooftop is one of the Sunshine Coast's most exciting new dining destinations. Sitting right in the heart of Mooloolaba, the hotel captures everything that makes this stretch of coastline so special, calm water, golden sand, and that effortless balance between relaxed and vibrant.
Sully's takes that same energy and elevates it, quite literally, with sweeping 180-degree views across Mooloolaba Beach, Point Cartwright, and the Glass House Mountains.

Satara was proud to be part of bringing Sully's Rooftop and the Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel to life. Our team supplied and installed furniture across the indoor restaurant, casual seating and bar areas, as well as a number of the hotel's guest rooms, ensuring a cohesive look and feel that carries through from the moment guests check in to the moment they sit down for dinner.
We sat down with Taryn Raso from Studio Raso Interior Design, who specified Satara's pieces for the project to hear their take on the collaboration.
"Satara was a natural fit for this project. Their range strikes that balance between an elegant coastal aesthetic and genuine commercial durability that can be hard to find. For a restaurant environment, the furniture needs to look refined while standing up to constant use, and Satara's offering ticked both boxes without compromise."
"The dining chairs were central to establishing the mood of the space. We wanted guests to feel a sense of relaxed coastal sophistication, and the Satara pieces carried that feeling through beautifully. Their form and materiality reinforced the overall design narrative without overpowering it."
The dining chairs were also customised to suit the demands of a high-traffic commercial setting. "We customised the backrest material on the dining chairs to something more robust and suited to a high-traffic restaurant setting. Satara were really accommodating through that process, working with us to find a finish that met the commercial brief without compromising the aesthetic intent of the original piece. We also made sure the timber stains were consistent throughout a couple of key pieces, which ensured a cohesive look where required."
The brief called for pieces that could hold their own against an impressive backdrop, and that's exactly what we delivered. Comfortable yet considered, the furniture selections complement the venue's coastal sophistication without competing with those views. The Joana Dining Chair and Hudson Armchair were a perfect fit for the dining area. The Tonka Bar Stool and Alessia Lounge Chair were the perfect complement for the bar and lounge area, looking out over the Mooloolaba coastline.
Whether guests are settling in for a long lunch or unwinding in their room after a day on the beach, Satara's furniture is designed to make every moment feel a little more special.
We're thrilled to see the space come to life and look forward to watching Sully's become a defining landmark on the Sunshine Coast dining scene.
If you are working on a large-scale commercial project and want to offer your clients something truly unique, we would love to be the partner that brings that vision to life.
